Everyone knows the deep musical connection that four tet and rocketnumbernine have together, with kieran hebden releasing the duo's first 12" 'matthew and toby' back in 2010 on text. now in 2013 we see the two come together once more for text 023, with floating points on production duties. having collaborated live on stage supporting radiohead in new york and at mutek festival, four tet and rocketnumbernine decided that the next step was to go into the studio. recorded live in one take, sam shepherd has captured something very deep - sounding familiar and yet totally fresh - as you would expect from three of the most forward-thinking artists in modern music. and - of course - the wonderful spirit of the great steve reid lives on in the music.
